Rules

We have a wonderful and caring comunity and strive hard to preserve the friendly and welcoming environment. We know mistakes happen sometimes, so there's a three-strike system in place. Strikes will be issued upon repeated violations of the rules. We reserve the right to skip steps if the situation requires (ie. severe rules violations). Steps may also be repeated if the need arises.

1. First violation of the rules will warrant a warning from a moderator or administrator.
   • This will be either in the server or in direct messages.
2. The second strike will result in a 24 hour timeout.
   • Members will be unable to send messages during this time. Their timeout status will be visible by all members in the server.
3. Upon a third strike, members will be either kicked or banned.
   • Whether the member is kicked or banned will be at the moderators' discretion. The decision will be based on a majority vote of the mod team.

The rules of the DCMK Fanfiction Server are as follows.

"I didn't know the rules" or "I was just joking" will never be a valid excuse for a violation of the rules. Each of these topics is expanded upon below to create the clearest picture of what is and is not tolerated in our community.

• Follow Discord TOS & Community Guidelines.
• Do not start conflict, cause distress, mini-mod, troll, or push topics of discourse and controversy.
• Keep the server as a whole user-friendly and PG-13.
• Do not use slurs.
• Do not ping @everyone or @here, and do not ping or @NOC unnecessarily (ie if you don’t need anything).
  • Spamming pings will result in a temporary ban.
  • Repeatedly disrespecting other users via pings counts as harassment.

Follow Discord TOS and Community Guidelines.

• Discriminatory language or hate speech, including memes/jokes are prohibited.
• Attempts/threats of doxxing, DDoSing, IP grabbing, etc. are strictly prohibited.
• Do not promote or participate in external server raids or other takeovers, invasions, etc.
• Do not impersonate people, bots, or companies.
• Do not be unnecessarily loud, abuse soundboards/voice changers, or spam join/leave in VCs.

Do not start conflict, cause distreess, mini-mod, troll, or push topics of discourse and controversy.

• Do not harass, attack, or be intentionally rude to other members, either on the server or through direct messages (DMs).
• Do not threaten server members with violence or defamation.
• Do not vent in the server unless in the #rant channel.

Keep the server as a whole user-friendly and PG-13.

• Please confine sensitive or nsfw content to your personal workbench and use spoiler marks and/or content warnings as needed. If you often post or plan on posting sensitive or nsfw content to your workbench, please tell a mod so we can mark your channel as nsfw.
• Please use the right avenues for talking about controversial political or religious topics, such as #rant or your own workbenches.
• Do not escalate or argue over your viewpoints, and if the conversation makes someone else uncomfortable, do not push them.

Do not use slurs.

• Hate speech is not tolerated.
• Do not make jokes on sensitive matters in general.

Sharing and distributing media on the server:

• Non-licensed/fan artwork shared on the server must be credited and include a link back to the original artist (i.e the artist's tumblr, reddit, etc).
  • Aggregate sites like Pinterest are not accepted sources. Even official DCMK material should have a source.
  • Repeated violations will result in a strike and eventual timeout/ban.
• AI work is acceptable so long as it's identified as AI-generated and a link is provided back to the original AI's site.

• Please keep self-promotion limited to the channels #self-promo, #dcmkupdates, your own workbench, or the proper channel under Events Hub.
• Do not ignore RPF (real people fandom/shipping) boundaries or discuss RPF shipping.
